Non Prescription Colored Contacts

If you want to change your eye color, you certainly can. It's easy to do if you just follow a few, simple steps. There are even ways to get free samples of colored contact lenses. Here is some more information I found:
Non Prescription Colored Contacts
Non prescription colored contacts have become popular with those who want to have a little extra fun changing and enhancing their look. Visiting an eye care professional will provide an eye exam, prescription and important information prior to purchase. Choose from enhancement or opaque varieties depending on the effect desired. Use a reputable provider who requires a prescription as is legally necessary in the U.S. By following guidelines for contact care and eye health, problems can be avoided and first time user issues minimized.
Be careful about where you buy colored contact lenses. Go with name brands

Get Free Contacts Online

How many times have you wished you could change your eye color? How many times have you wished that you could turn your corrective glasses into something more comfortable or that allows you to participate in more physical activities? Did you know that contact lenses can do this for you? Did you know that contacts are so comfortable and convenient that you may forget that you are wearing them? Many people know this but just don't have the money to invest in them or either their insurance won't cover the cost.

What they don't know is that they get a pair of lenses of their choice whether they are colored, corrective, or just dramatic for costumes, for free. Yes, you can get any type of lenses you desire online for free. There is so much competition out here for non prescription colored contacts, that there are millions of companies that will give you free lenses to try just to turn you on to their company and possibly win your future business. You can order from as many companies as you like and get as many free lenses as you want. As long as you have access to the computer, you're ready to begin.

One thing about getting lenses online is that not all companies produce lenses of the best quality, so you may not always receive the best lenses for your eyes. Don't worry though because the moment you realize that a lens is uncomfortable to your eyes then you can discard them immediately without worrying about the money you will be losing. Some of the most trusted brands that are recommend the most by eye doctors are Acuvue and Freshlook. These brands have the highest customer satisfaction rate than any other lens and they are also always giving out free samples for you to try.

Once you've tried your lenses, you will notice the extreme difference in wearing them compared to your glasses and you still get that crisp clear vision you desire. It can be hard trying to find a lens that is right for you. We all want something that is comfortable and a pleasure to our eyes but you must first be willing to seek that out. Once you have found that extreme comfort, you almost instantly fall in love. Contact lenses are easy to clean and they are easy to put in and remove.

Of course contacts are not for everyone. They can cause redness, burning, itching, swelling, extreme discomfort, and blurred vision. Sometimes if they are not sized properly as well, they can slide all over the eyes, making it difficult to see. Some people just don't like the idea of putting something in their eyes and that's ok. All I am saying is that they are definitely worth the try, especially since they are free. If you find that your eyes are uncomfortable even after trying some of the best brands, then contact lenses are not for you. Go online and request several pairs of lenses today and see if your eyes don't love them.

What About Those Halloween Contact Lenses?

If you were thinking about picking up a pair of Halloween, special effect colored contact lenses at the Halloween costume store or the beauty salon, think again. First, it's illegal for that place to sell them without getting your prescription. Second, these cheap Halloween contacts can be very dangerous. They could severely damage your eyes or even cause blindness!
Color lenses may cause blindness (health.asiaone.com)

"The shop owners claim that color contact lenses are wearable overnight. This is not true," said Rufina Chan, chairman of the HKSPO. She said color contacts can only be worn for four to six hours at the most.

Illegal contacts put eyes at risk, Oklahoma doctors say (newsok.com)

Due to trendy circle contact lens use, ophthalmologists at Oklahoma City's Dean McGee Eye Institute say they and colleagues nationwide are seeing severe eye infections that lead to vision loss and could even require corneal transplants.

Halloween contact lenses may cause nasty infection (weblogs.baltimoresun.com)

But not only are they illegal, they can permanently damage your eyes and even make you go blind, said Dr. Elliott H. Myrowitz, an assistant professor and chief of Optometric Services at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. He's joining a chorus of doctors, organizations and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in warning consumers off these products.
What are popular right now are circle contact lenses along with Halloween contact lenses. To wear them safely, you should first see an eye care professional, get a prescription and then order them from a name brand company that does not use cheap paint. When you wear them, only wear them during the day and take them out at night. Your eyes might have to first get used to them and you should start off just wearing them a few hours a day. Of course, never share your contact lenses with anyone else either.

Hazel Green Contact Lenses

The saying by Stendhal that beauty is the promise of happiness rings true all over the world and no where is this more evident than in the eye wear industry. When it comes to contact lenses, the color options availed are as numerous as the sky is wide but one of the superlative options comes in the form of the hazel green contact lenses.

Now for those that may be making their maiden voyage into the contact lenses arena certain considerations must be made. For a start these lenses could either be of a functional or aesthetic nature especially if you have no idea what it means to suffer from presbyopia or astigmatism.

As mentioned earlier the rainbow colors that contact lenses come in might serve to confuse but for individuals keen on drawing unsurpassed attention to their eyes then there are hazel green contact lenses. This eye art comes in distinct formats for one day use or for extended wear each with its own advantages. Whereas the former is worn once then discarded the silicone versions can be worn for an entire month giving you an accurate feel of the contact lenses.

Whether for the short or long term the contact lens has various types of shade applied to it a factor that has to be carefully thought through. As an example the color tint alters the color of the eye completely creating visual appeal as well as boosting the wearers self esteem. On the other hand, the tint you choose to take on could be just enough to enhance your eye color.

Make sure that you see your eye doctor before getting any kind of contact lens. This is the law in most areas. Another advantage in doing that is your local optometrist should be able to hook you up with a pair or free contact lenses as trial pairs.

Once you have settled on the hazel green color for your contact lenses the second step is to select the category that best suits your eyes. The two main divisions are the soft and hard and whereas the first variety is good for a single wear the rigid gas permeable lenses can be worn several times over.

For those that do know what it means to have myopia or hyperopia then contact lenses are right up your alley. Contact lenses have made the idea of donning spectacles less daunting and has made eye wear a fashion statement as opposed to something to be ashamed of as may have been the case in the past.

There are copious advantages contact lenses have for those that have vision difficulties whether they are slightly tinted or totally darkened. Firstly the fact that they are worn in the eye improves vision immensely and also provides the wearer with stable sight especially when compared to spectacles.

Contact lenses also afford the eyes a measure of protection especially if you have had cataracts removed.

In conclusion the contact lens can be used to correct your sight or simply give your eyes that much needed vibrancy. Either way this invention that can be traced as far back as Leornado Da Vinci is here to stay and should you be keen to own a pair then hazel green ought to be the color of choice.

Lady Gaga Contact Lens Trend

It has been in the news a little while now. Lady Gaga was wearing some black, round contact lenses in her "Bad Romance" video and now teens are getting them and appear to be getting eye infections or even partly losing their vision because of this. Below are some resources about it.

First of all, don't blame Lady Gaga. I'm not particularly a fan of her's but you can't blame her. The video producer or director probably had the idea and she went along with it. She got professional, theatrical contact lenses put in and she did it the right way - not sharing her contacts with anyone else and she might have even had an eye exam before getting them. So where did she go wrong? Nowhere.

If parents don't know what their teenage girls are putting in their eyes, then that's their problem for bad parenting. Contact lenses are considered by law to be medical devices for this reason. Bush signed the law back in 2005 because of the problem of colored contacts being unregulated. Making it so that you need to see an eye doctor was a smart move because look at what happens.
And then it's also the retailers that are breaking the law since that's where this law is enforced. Make sure that when you order contact lenses of any kind - be it cosmetic colored contacts, circle contact lenses or even normal ones - they ask you for your prescription. Parents need to know what their kids are putting into their eyes. Vision is a precious thing. Be careful out there.

How Much You Should Expect To Pay For Good Contact Lenses?

Many people believe that the cost of contacts lenses is one of the biggest disadvantages this corrective vision implement has over the often less expensive and older technology of glasses. The initial exam may cost more than a traditional eye exam, but that is because the doctor must take measurements of the eye to ensure a correct fit. Opthamologists only needs to worry about the pupil distance and the width of the head for selecting eye glass frames. When an eye doctor prescribes contacts, he must make sure they fit each patient’s eye correctly.

Eye exams for contact lenses run between 90 to 150 dollars depending on where the patient lives and on the individual price of the doctor. Vision insurance, for those who have it often cover the cost of the exams. When the contact lens technology was first introduced, the cost for contact lenses was higher than the cost of glasses, but that is not necessarily the case any more. Contacts often cost less than quality frames and the lenses. Although contacts still cost more to maintain in the long run, permanent contacts lenses can be bought for somewhere between $75-$125 dollars where you live.

Contact lens companies usually provide other accessories such as the storage cases and the cleaning supplies to get your started. The major drawback for contact lenses over eye glasses is that the former are much easier to loose and far more fragile. They also require regular cleanings, even if the wearer buys a pair designed for long-term wear.

Contacts also offer other cosmetic advantages. A person can change the color of their eyes with cosmetic colored contacts without prescription or not have the shape of their face changed by wearing spectacles. Good Contacts versus good eye glasses has become more of a matter of personal preference rather than a matter of what an individual can afford.

Colored Contacts Without Prescription Exams

Everyone is trying to get colored contacts without prescription exams these days without bothering to research the topic of even why it is important to get an eye exam in the first place. Maybe it is because they are uneducated as to why an individual needs a contact exam. It is also possible that they do not have the money that it takes to get a proper eye exam.

Some might be thinking, “What’s the big deal? Why should I have to have an eye exam?” To put it simply, if you do not want to risk serious injury or possible blindness then get an eye exam. The whole purpose of getting an eye exam is to measure and record the size and shape of one’s eye so they may be properly fitted with a colored contact lens that will not be too big or too small. If a lens is not the right size, it can easily fall out of or scratch the surface of the eyeball.

If you still want to get colored contacts without prescription exams then it is possible, but it will take a little work. It can be challenging to find a store or website on the internet that will be willing to send you a pair of contacts that are not prescribed for you because in some areas it is against the law.

Your best bet for finding colored contacts are in shopping malls and novelty shops. It should be noted that once the purchase of the contacts are made the makers and the shop that sold them cannot be held responsible for any damages caused to buyer of the contacts.

Once the contacts have been purchased, it is important to follow all included instructions on proper cleanliness and hygiene when handling them. Since these contacts are not fitted specifically for the purchaser’s eyes then it is important to keep them very clean so if they are to scratch or nick the cornea then the risk of infection is reduced. If an individual follows these instructions then they will safely enjoy their new contacts.

Glow in the Dark and Twilight Contact Lenses

Tinted contact lenses are available in three types. The visibility tint is generally a light blue or green color added onto a contact, solely to help you see it better in the course of insertion and removal, or if you lose it. Because it is a very gentle tint, it doesn't impact the eye color. Second is the enhancement tint which is a solid but still semi-transparent tint that has more depth of color than a visibility tint. The enhancement tint can change your eye color to a certain extent. The enhancement tint is meant to enhance your existing eye color. Color enhancing tints are usually best for people who have got light colored eyes to help make their eye color more intense.

Finally, opaque color tinted lenses are stronger tints that can change your color of eyes completely. This type of colored contact lens are normally produced in solid colors. If you have dark eyes, you will want this sort of color lens to vary your eye color. Color lenses come in many hues, which include blue, brown, green, purple and gray.

Halloween contacts can be a great way to accessorize your Halloween costumes. Special effects contact lenses certainly give your look that advantage that could make your attire completely awesome. People are wearing special effect or costume contacts for enjoyment, not just for Halloween night. The enormous popularity of the "Twilight" movies and books make Twilight contact lenses tremendously fashionable. Stunning vivid blue lenses, are one of the most favored color contacts throughout the year. A further interesting party contact lens are special effect contact lenses that shows up in black light. These contact lenses glow in the dark and are available in green, blue, orange and yellow. They are the ideal colored contacts for clubbing and parties.

It has in past times been challenging for anyone suffering from astigmatism to wear lenses that would both fit and be comfy. Today, the fresh style of toric contact lenses are exceedingly comfortable, soft and created to fit the unique shape of your eye. With these you can wear a regular disposable soft toric contact lens even if you have a high level of astigmatism. One of those varieties of lens are the Acuvue toric disposable lenses which are available with visibility tint.

Right now when it is popular to have a style that is different, tinted contacts are the answer. These lenses can easily create a remarkable effect without affecting vision. It is possible to get colored contact lenses regardless of whether you need eyesight correction or not.

Why You Should Realize the Benefits of Contact Lenses

Are you one of the thousands, if not millions of people who feel as though your eyes may not be as perfect as you would like them to be? You are not alone. Just like the saying "Nobody's Perfect", nobody in the world has perfect vision. It may seem like some people do, but they really don't. Contact lenses are the perfect solution for anyone who feels like they might not have the best eyes in the world, in that they make you look natural, are becoming just as cheap as wearing glasses, and many even allow you the option of sleeping with them in.

One of the most obvious benefits of contacts as opposed to other forms of eye improvement would be the fact that they give you a natural look. Not that there is anything wrong with wearing glasses, glasses just don't allow you to do certain things that contacts do, such as any kind of sports or activities that involve to much action. Another good thing about looking natural is the benefit that it holds for people with more unusual eye problems, for instance colored contacts are helpful for those with eye pigment differences, or albino people. In addition for use in the cosmetic world, many contacts can help you stand out, for instance theatrical contacts for Halloween, and parties.

A second benefit of contact lenses would be the fact that as they are becoming more and more popular, the prices are going down. Many companies have to keep up with the law of supply and demand, and as more people are demanding, contacts are rapidly becoming equally as expensive as, if not cheaper than glasses. Last time I checked, contacts were about equal to the price of glasses, and some companies even give free samples of contacts in order to entice customers to buy their brand.

Last but not least, one of my favorite benefits of contact lenses is that many brands give you the option to sleep in them. Not only that, but you generally have the option when buying contacts to choose between hard and soft contact lenses. There are benefits to both of these which you simply can not get with other forms of eye enhancement. While soft lenses generally generally let more oxygen through to your eyes and are easier to take in, and out, hard lenses hold your eye in place and give you better vision over longer periods of time.

Learn more about contact lenses as well as colored contacts without prescription so that you know all the options that are available to you.

Teenager Almost Goes Blind With Cheap Colored Contacts

Maybe this will make someone think twice about buying colored contact lenses without prescription:
Some wearers of cosmetic contacts looking for trouble, doctor says (readingeagle.com)

Nonprescription lenses can do lot worse than altering looks
Nonprescription Novelty and colored contact lenses sold online and from mall kiosks and novelty shops are illegal and can cause blindness.
Velez said she and her daughter were frightened by her daughter's brush with blindness.
"She had to take three different drops," Velez said. "The doctor said she had a bad infection and that she had to go one day without sleep putting the antibiotic drops in her eyes once every hour. There were three different drops. One for pain and two to fight the infection."
Her daughter has recovered but Corbin said other patients aren't so lucky.
The teenage girl almost went blind. To get better, she had to stay up all night, putting in drops to save her eyes.

The law is that you can only wear contact lenses (of any kind - colored or not) under the supervision of an optometrist. This is exactly why this law was enacted. There are too many vendors out there selling colored contact lenses like candy bars. A store's supplier has them on their list and it looks like there's good markup on them, so they put them in their store, not knowing the consquences. It's the store that gets in trouble for selling them - not the consumer but even though you may be able to find color contacts without a prescription doesn't mean you should get them.

The cheap paint on these cosmetic colored contacts ends up going into the solution and this causes an eye infection. They're just made too cheaply. Too many corners are cut to bring the price down and then people buy them and put them in their eyes - almost going blind!

Only get colored contacts from vendors using quality materials like manufactures such as Acuvue or Colorblends. Be smart and don't go cheap when it comes to your eyes.

Tips for Getting Cosmetic Color Contact Lenses

Colored contact lenses are a fun and easy way to change ones appearance. These lenses come in a variety of colors and shades and can bring a new look to someone’s face in just a matter of seconds. These lenses are safe to wear and comfortable. They come in disposable and non disposable, which makes it possible to easily choose one that fits in with someone’s daily routine. Colored contacts without prescription can help someone present themselves in a different way than they are used to and bring a sense of creativity to ones overall style.

Choosing to use disposable colored contact lenses gives someone the freedom to change their eye color on a regular basis. These lenses can last for around a month before needing to be replaced and offer great vivid color. Choosing the right color is easy. Denser colors should be chosen for covering dark brown or hazel eyes. Brighter colors are best fit for people with light colored eyes, like blue or green.

There are a few tips for getting colored contact lenses that should be followed. Talking to ones eye doctor is one of the best way to get inexpensive and safe lenses. There are also many websites that offer colored lenses. Research should be done to find safe websites that have a history of providing lenses to consumers.

There is no need for a prescription to get colored contact lenses, so almost everyone is able to receive and wear these lenses. These lenses differ from other contact lenses in the fact that they are cosmetic lenses and do not serve any purpose of improving eye sight. It is still a good idea to get contact lenses that properly fit the eye to prevent any damage from occurring. These lenses should also be thin and allow for air to pass through to the cornea.

Time for a New Prescription

I plan to go in and renew my contact lens prescription soon. I'm about out of contact lenses. Well, I'm down to my last 3 but the other 3 in that box didn't work that well for me because I have astigmatism. Those didn't line up well in my eyes. I have a feeling these last 3 won't work too well.

I got my last prescription at Sears Optical. The follow up issues I had, I don't think they handled very well. They sort of left me high and dry and did not help me get replacement contact lenses for this bad batch. I think I'll try a new store that opened up here called Stanton Optical. They have some good deals going on. I also need a new prescription for my glasses, so I might get those done at the same time.

I will also get a pair of colored contact lenses, too. I might try brown and then also gray. I think gray would look cool.

Vampire Contact Lenses on American Idol

I was watching an episode of American Idol the other day and they had the contestants dressed up to shoot a music video commercial. In keeping with the Twilight movies and their success, they dressed them up like vampires and even gave them vampire colored contact lenses to wear. They turned out looking pretty cool, actually.

I think they did a good job decking them out to look like the handsome, teen vampires since they used light colored makeup, punk / emo type hairstyles and those vampire contact lenses. There was a special effect used in the video production that made things look very black and white but they made the yellow contacts stand out and that really made everything work. I'm worried that people might see that and think they could get the same kind of look with their Halloween costume if they go as a vampire. They might be able to get something close that though - if they work at it and plan their costume out ahead of time.

Free Colored Contacts Samples

We all love getting free samples of stuff. If you look for these offers, they're out there. You get to try the product before you buy it and decide if it's something that you would eventually want to purchase. Manufacturers of products understand how this works and they like it, too. They get their product into your hands and they find this often to be a more effective way to spend their advertising money instead of expensive magazine ads. I think it makes sense, too. So when you see offers for free samples of products, don't be afraid to take advantage of them.

So the same holds true with a free colored contacts sample. It's basically the same thing but the process is a little different. You can get the free samples of contact lenses but there's something you have to do first.

First, you'll need to get a prescription for contact lenses. This is for a few reasons. One reason is that if you're going to get a free sample of contacts, the manufacturer will want to make sure that the ones you get are the right ones to help your vision. If you do not need vision correction, they'll want to make sure they fit your eyes well. Not everyone's eyes are the same size and shape, so a proper fitting is very important. It's also the law that you get a prescription. Seeing an eye doctor is a good thing to do, so we also suggest you do this first.

You can then find the offers that are available for colored contact lenses. These are on the websites of the different brands of contacts that are out there. You can even go get these offers now if you want - that's probably the best way.

Ben Stiller Rocks the Avatar Contact Lenses at the Oscars

I like how Ben Stiller keeps things interesting. That was quite the shocker when he came out to present an Oscar dressed as a character from Avatar. He had the blue skin, the braid, the tail and even the yellow contact lenses:
Oscars 2010 recap: Bigelow is Queen of the World! (blogs.newsobserver.com)

Ben Stiller came out as a Na'vi from "Avatar" to present the award for Best Makeup (and as he noted, "Avatar" wasn't even nominated for that award, since all the blue people were CGI). He had the blue face paint and gross yellow contact lenses and a fishing pole connected to his long tail. Way to commit. The makeup winner: "Star Trek."
I think the yellow contact lenses looked good on him - meaning, as that character. They looked realistic and, of course, he could still see out of them. It really completed the look he was going for.

If someone was going as a character from Avatar for their Halloween costume, they would probably find that adding the Avatar contact lenses to it would really make a huge difference. This is because people always look at other people's eyes when they look at them, so they would get noticed. Having yellow colored eyes is not natural, which is probably why that color was chosen for the characters in that movie.

This type of special effect contact lens is similar to those worn in the Twilight movies. I guess the vampires and Avatar characters have something in common. Weird.

Mad Hatter Contact Lenses
In addition to those two, I almost forgot that there's a third character that's also related - the Mad Hatter from the new Alice in Wonderland movie. People are also looking for Mad Hatter contact lenses, which would, in my opinion, be another great Halloween costume this year. Johhny Depp seems to keep outdoing himself with the number of ways he can look. He will, no doubt, go down in the Hollywood history books and one of the most creative looking actors ever. He can transform into any character and the Mad Hatter is going to be one of his best, for sure.

Are Colored Contacts Without Prescription Legal?

It seems like all the buzz right now is about people wondering about how to get colored contacts without prescription. There is some confusion about if a prescription is actually needed or not along with some other questions and things to know. This article will discuss those things.

President Bush signed a law into act on November 11, 2005 that allows the FDA to regulate all contact lenses - including non-corrective, decorative lenses - as medical devices. Here it is in H. R. 371:

"All contact lenses have significant effects on the eye and pose serious potential health risks if improperly manufactured or used without appropriate involvement of a qualified eye care professional.

Most contact lenses currently marketed in the United States, including certain plano and decorative contact lenses, have been approved as medical devices pursuant to premarket approval applications or cleared pursuant to premarket notifications by the Food and Drug Administration (‘‘FDA’’).

FDA has asserted medical device jurisdiction over most corrective and noncorrective contact lenses as medical devices currently marketed in the United States, including certain plano and decorative contact lenses, so as to require approval pursuant to premarket approval applications or clearance pursuant to premarket notifications.

All contact lenses can present risks if used without the supervision of a qualified eye care professional. Eye injuries in children and other consumers have been reported for contact lenses that are regulated by FDA as medical devices primarily when used without professional involvement, and noncorrective contact lenses sold without approval or clearance as medical devices have caused eye injuries in children."

As you can see, getting contact lenses without a prescription, even colored contacts that are non-corrective, is not legal. They refer to colored contacts as decorative contact lenses and they're also sometimes called cosmetic colored contact lenses.

The good news is that it's really easy to get them still. All you need to do is go see an eye care professional and get fitted for them. It's a good idea since you want them to fit right and it's good to get your eyes checked by an eye doctor every now and then. Who knows? You may even need some vision correction, which could help your eyes and make them not be so strained.

You can even get free color contact lenses. So what colors do you want to try? You can try several brands, so why not try a few different colors to see what you like and what looks the best on you? You can't share them with friends, but you can ask them how they look on you. It's fun to change your appearance, which I guess it's why they also call them cosmetic colored contacts. It seems that many people now are trying this. You can either enhance the natural color of your eyes or go to a totally new color. Why not?
